Today is National Police Memorial Day, an opportunity to honour the courage and heroism of those men and women who have lost their lives defending us and upholding the law.

As we go about our business today, we should take a moment to remember their enormous sacrifice. They have paid a heavy price, for the freedom and security we all enjoy, and it is right that they are not forgotten.

They and their families, will be in our thoughts today, and always.
